small fruit's first rp catchall... call me out... post thing! (2016)

Muselist is HERE!

Just comment with which of my characters that you want, a prompt from a meme or something of your own creation, and let's roll! This can also work as a discussion post if you want a more dedicated PSL.

Here's a generic list of scenarios from memes and stuff!
  • family bonds or found families
  • vacation or road trip
  • the way back home
  • stuck inside from the rain or out in the rain
  • pillow forts
  • seasonal things (weather, celebrations, etc.)
  • hurt/comfort
  • things that need to be said
  • corruption and purification

I can also do game AUs! Games I've been in include [community profile] empatheias, [community profile] cerealia, [community profile] thefarshore, and [community profile] crosschecks. However I can try anything if I can be provided the premise.

[ not everything in this strange world they've found themselves in belongs– belonged to them— shocking, but that much hanbei can admit.

it probably never will, and that attitude is a new fruit the small peninsula managed to grow. with hideyoshi gone, the fog that is the hallmark presence in ryslig no longer appears to be a force to be understood and manipulated for the best, but as the fickle omnipotence it touts itself as, and the power granted by the transformations, as wasted potential.

horrific transformations, monsters with vicious appetite, the locals who fight back, political upheaval– are all unchanged. all factors to be subjected to rather than to wield, but hanbei powers through the bimonthly routine, even while the overcast sky and the dull light from it saps the energy from his susceptible scales.

the beach that washes arrivals to shore is the same grey, icy thing it always has been, accompanied by a light fog that blankets the ground as far as the eye can see. newcomers awaken wet and littered with small scratches, almost ritually.

the north vandare soldiers pointing guns at those who come ashore, however, are rather new.

the foremost man is ushering one or two new arrivals down a path through the center of town that leads to a large, cemented wall, manned with occupied watch towers all forcibly encouraging them out a single, tall wooden door. whether or not they find a pleasant sight at the other end is entirely up to experience, but any resident, arrival, or monster who dares break the flow and enter the north will be met with gunfire.

it's a horribly tense scene, and hanbei plays his part in it from the other side, creating space between the door and spectators and conducting the last of arrivals through to their new city. ]

[ Keiji, even unarmed and covered in light wounds, can maintain an air of lightheartedness. If not that, he's at least polite and won't make a scene to give those giving the new arrivals harsh looks a hard time. Honestly it's effort, and could leave a rather nasty impression to last were he to go against the flow. It's the little things he does to still be him, waving at the guard and giving a harmless smile. even if it doesn't with him any favors by those on watch. What are they for in a town like this, Keiji can guess but it leaves him feeling colder than the dampness of his clothes.

There's that faint sound of gunfire, maybe someones's last use of their voice, it's chilling and makes the hairs on one's neck (or scales, fur too) stand on end, and it almost encourages Keiji to do something that he wouldn't regret himself, but is trouble nonetheless. He snaps out of it though, shaking his head with his damp hair slinging over his shoulder from it. The sight of who's about to lead these new arrivals to the city is what causes him to act though, the white hair and thin build unmistakable.

He knows it isn't wise, he imagined running up to this man with a weapon in hand and the inevitable fight, that's how things worked back home during a time of turbulence. Uneasy feelings or not towards Hanbei though, the closer he gets to him, the more he realizes that he too is like the others he's seen around, it's not some trick of the eyes or fatigue and paranoia taking him. Perhaps it's more of an issue that Hanbei is alive, but Keiji doesn't care. It's someone he knows, and he can pretend that it gives ease to his heart. ]

Hanbei? ...Hanbei!

[ He's about to grab Hanbei by the shoulders, ask him so many things that he probably wouldn't answer. But his hands stop inches before that, and they're instead limp at his sides. There's a second of thought that says something about danger, so he takes a step back, nodding his head to acknowledge that he was about to make a mistake. ]

[ through the fog and all it brings with it– the tricks of the mind and the false visions conjured from a power too unearthly to confidently manipulate, hanbei has a hard time determining whether or not his eyes are reliable. though he can see quite clearly with his sharp, enhanced eyes the image of the wanderer maeda keiji in the distance... too much has happened in recent months and he's too used to waiting and watching for the most stable reaction before giving it.

someone from their world arriving again... it was always a possibility, just one he had long since forgotten after months of no one, and the disappearances of otani and hideyoshi. no, the last person from their time the fog god decided to grant this forsaken world was perhaps the worst thorn in his side imaginable. the fact that today, it's keiji of all people, is an irony he might actually find the humor in.

it isn't until keiji has stopped in front of him that he decides he's real. it is so hard to tell these days, but the water dripping from his hair and clothing tells him he's been through the routine, and the humble way the man pulls back... well that isn't something hanbei would conceive on his own. ]
Keiji-kun...

[ he, truthfully, isn't sure how to feel. he hasn't for a long while. when the ryslig peninsula was deemed by him to have no value... there's not much keiji can do to ruin it. that's his first thought. with hideyoshi gone, hanbei is tempted to say keiji's presence has little weight at all– that's what he tells himself, and yet he's silent for a long while, having stopped his interactions with anyone around him as their surroundings seem to fade out. he remains not quite meeting the vagabond's eyes for another beat, until he finds his bearings. ] ... It's been a long time.

[ he says, finally raising his voice and his glowing, icy gaze at him. ] How unfortunate for you that you're here. [ his elongated canines are visible as he speaks, and hanbei decides to give a particular lean that aims to prey on keiji's moment of hesitation.

that's right, he is human. if the worlds they lived in were impossibly different before, they must be whole galaxies apart at this moment. ]

[ Keiji takes a half step back. Hanbei doesn't get the side of Keiji that everyone usually sees: exuberant, cheerful, having the belief they could be good friends if they had a common friend. Part of coping with death also meant accepting things were so unlikely they may be impossible. It's so you don't grieve over what could have been. Hanbei is Hideyoshi's friend, his one friend, in a world so far away. Even then, he can't hate that. ]

You're right, it has.

[ He's felt cold already, the icy shores near Vandarre at night can be thanked for that, and slowly drying off doesn't do any favors. But it pales in comparison to that frigid look in Hanbei's eyes and the fangs that are subtly bared at him. A wintery dragon is a strangely appropriate them for the strategist, and it can't even unnerve him at this point when it sinks in properly. Same goes for anything close to a welcome. ]

I can't say I'm unfamiliar to hostility, so it's not that bad. Something the matter, Hanbei?

[ But at the very least, he can look at him in the eye and bear it with a forcedsmile. He shouldn't be taunting a man who could definitely rip him to shreds, possibly devour him if the tales were true... But the energy he's known for hasn't been snuffed out by Ryslig's horror or Hanbei's intimidation just yet. ]
